The Best Ice Cream Place in Hokitika

Sweet Alice's Fudge

Come in store for decadent homemade fudge and candies or try a scoop of ice cream with a freshly made waffle cone, add real fruit for extra indulgence.

Delicious real fruit soft serve ice cream in a waffle cone. So tasty!

Alice also makes fudge on site. Incredible to watch…yummy to eat. Take the kids! They also sell homemade boiled sweets, just like the old days. Lemon drops, raspberry drops etc.

You can buy a box of four different kinds of fudge, take it home to share with the family (or eat it all yourself!) You can try before you buy to find your favourite flavours.

Located on Tancred Street, Hokitika, beside the Hokitika Craft Gallery.

Grab an ice cream and head to the beach to watch the sunset.

There are a number of fine dining choices in Hokitika. One of my favourites is Stations Inn Restaurant and Bar

  • Stations Inn Hokitika features an award winning restaurant offering a la carte dining. The award winning New Zealand cuisine is perfectly complemented by a full range of locally brewed Monteith’s beer and an excellent selection of quality New Zealand wines. Amazing sunsets from the restaurant area.

My absolute favourite thing  to do is grab some fish and chips and sit on the beach. There is no better place to eat dinner/lunch than by the sea watching the waves and, if you are lucky, an amazing sunset.

There are two fish and chip shops in Hokitika and both of them are excellent.

The Best Vegetarian & GF Cafe In Hokitika

Ramble & Ritual Cafe cake

Ramble + Ritual is a unique cafe offering awesome coffee, delicious fresh & wholesome food, great vibes & a little bit of sunshine to your day!

If you are looking for beautifully fresh, tasty and flavoursome breakfasts, lunch and coffee then head to Ramble & Ritual on Sewell St, Hokitika. All vegetarian, all tasty

I am a regular here and I can absolutely recommend the food. One of my favourites is the broccoli and blue cheese tart (GF) with a selection of the freshly made salads. There are always at least 3 different salads and you can get a bowl of salad to go. Never bland and boring – always full of flavour.

They also bake beautiful slices and cakes every day. I love the ginger crunch and the caramel slice.

The fresh smoothies are a great way to start the day. Full of healthy goodness.

There is a wide range of teas on offer and great coffee. They also sell a range of NZ made soft drinks and kombucha.

The staff are friendly and the service is excellent. See you there!
